The President gave approval for 30 Mention-in-Depatches for the army, including one for army dog Madhu (Posthumous), and one for air Force soldiers.
Prior to the 77th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu on monday approved the presentation of 76 Gallantry awards to members of the armed forces and the central armed police forces (CAPF). This list includes 52 Sena Medals (Gallantry), three Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), four Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry), four posthumous kirti Chakra awardees, eleven Shaurya Chakra awardees (including five posthumous), and two recipients of the Bar to Sena Medal.
As a result of their substantial contributions to various military operations, the President also granted 30 Mention-in-Despatches for army troops, including one for army dog Madhu (Posthumous), and one for air Force soldiers. Operation Rakshak, Operation Snow Leopard, Operation Casualty Evacuation, Operation Mount Chomo, Operation Pangsau Pass, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Orchid, Operation Kalisham Valley, Rescue Operation, and Operation Evacuation are only a few of the missions that have been conducted.
The President also authorised the awarding of five Tatrakshak Medals (TM) and one President's Tatrakshak Medal (PTM) to members of the indian Coast Guard in recognition of their distinguished/meritorious service, outstanding commitment to duty, and display of bravery on the occasion of Independence Day in 2023.
