Earlier on Sunday, a day before the ram mandir Pran Pratistha ceremony, a festive atmosphere was seen in ayodhya city where many folk dances ranging from 'Badhawa' to 'Ghoomar', songs dedicated to Lord ram echoing on loudspeakers and costumes of Shri ram, Sita and Hanuman. The passers-by seemed to be attracted towards the people dressed up. The streets decorated with saffron flag along with flowers and lights were also captivating the people. Overall, ayodhya, the city of temples, is buzzing. Small platforms have been built at many places on the ram Path leading to Shri ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Folk dancers from all over the country are performing different dances and passersby can be seen stopping to make videos and take selfies. An official of the culture Department of Uttar Pradesh government said that the folk dances being performed across the city include Badhawa, Chari, Ghoomar, Dhobia, Rai, Rasleela, Mayur, Khayal dance and Sataria. The roads leading to ram temple look like a 'miniature India'. A similar scene will be seen on january 22 also.

Groups of devotees singing and dancing, people dressed as Ramayana characters and small vehicles decorated with flowers and posters bearing the image of Lord ram were a common sight on the streets of the holy city on Sunday. Before the consecration ceremony to be held on Monday, thousands of people had gathered at the main gate of the temple, which is completely covered with flowers.

Pragya Diwan, who presented 'Ghoomar', a folk dance of Rajasthan, said that we celebrate diwali every year to commemorate the return of Lord ram to ayodhya and here this is the biggest diwali till date. Why not celebrate it with great pomp? The religious atmosphere here cannot be described in words or recorded only on camera.
