Sachin Pilot, Govind Singh Dotasara, and ashok gehlot are not contesting the lok sabha elections. On this, sachin pilot said that that decision was taken by the Central election Committee keeping in mind the role of everyone in the elections. He said that the final decision on the selection of the candidate rests with the CEC. The party took this decision. Speaking to PTI, sachin pilot said that the party decides what role people have to play. AICC decided that he was the best candidate. He said, “I am responsible for all my candidates (in Rajasthan). Sometimes in the media, it seems that he belongs to this group or that group, but it is not so at all. Every congress candidate is our candidate, we have to work dedicatedly to ensure his victory.”
What is the challenge before Congress? the pilot told
Sachin said that congress had not opened its account in the 2019 lok sabha elections or the earlier elections, hence the challenge remains before the party. Pilot said the feedback he has received is that congress will do "very well" in rajasthan this time because people are "fed up and want change." At that time we had not announced the face for the post of prime minister etc. We did not do this this time also because the idea is that people should have two options - 'India' and NDA. The ‘India’ alliance has decided that after getting the mandate in the elections, we will decide who will get which post.”
