A Muslim student was beaten up on charges of 'Love Jihad'!!!
A case of beating of a 19-year-old Muslim student has come to light from a university in pune city of Maharashtra. A Muslim student was allegedly beaten up by five unidentified people accusing him of being involved in 'Love Jihad'. An official of Chatushringi police station said that the incident took place on sunday afternoon when a boy was going with two female students to the campus of savitribai phule pune University. police said a case has been registered against unknown persons and efforts are being made to identify the culprits.
Regarding the matter, the university officials said that they had formed a committee to investigate the incident. police officials said that the student was returning with two female students after having dinner when four unknown persons riding on a motorcycle approached them on the university campus. He started interrogating the student and asked him to show his aadhar card.
Attacked after seeing the name in the aadhar card
The victim student said in his complaint that after seeing his name on the Aadhaar card, the accused him of being involved in 'Love Jihad', and during this a person attacked him. On the complaint of the victim student, the police have registered a case against unknown persons under relevant provisions of the indian Penal Code. The accused are being searched through CCTV footage. The victim student is a student in a skill development course in the university.
Formation of the committee for investigation in the university
Regarding the matter, the Registrar of the university, Vijay Khare said that he has formed a committee to investigate the incident. Along with this, the security personnel deployed in the institute have been asked to ensure that such incidents of threatening students by anti-social elements do not happen again.
