Ulaga Nayagan kamal haasan had contested last year's lok sabha elections and also went on to host the third season of bigg boss reality game show and had lately started to shoot for his movie indian 2 from the end of 2019 though the movie began shooting in january 2019 itself.
indian 2 was filmed in several locations in North india particularly rajasthan and next kamal haasan had to take a skip from the shoot because of his surgery, and then the shooting restarted from february with scenes planned to be shot in EVP film city in a 35 days schedule. But due to the unexpected Crane accident, the entire shooting was called off, and just when it was likely to get a resume, again the shooting was stalled due to the unexpected corona virus pandemic.
Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, indian 2 co-stars milky babe kajal aggarwal, siddharth, rakul preet singh, Vivek, bobby simha and has music scored by Anirudh. indian 2 is expected to release worldwide on eve of pongal 2022 after the general elections in the state of tamil Nadu. kamal haasan is contesting in the elections too.
