Tragedy: Dead Body carried in the floodwaters

The Discharge from the Cholingar lake has been above the limits and more water is been released into the canal area. Due to this, many dead bodies started to float and were swept away in the overflowing waters. This situation persists in the Somasundaran colony in the Ranipettai district near Cholinar lake. This area has a population of over 1300. Nearby the area, there is a canal that takes in excess water from the lake. Due to the lack of a raised road, many people use the canal to walk through the Cholinagar. Due to heavy rains in the recent days in many places, the water is being overflowed. The surplus water had made the canal flooded.
                                   Many people are helpless and stranded in those areas. On november 14th, a 75-year-old woman in this area died and another 60-year-old woman died today. In these areas, people have cremated the body as it started to float in the overflowing water with no other way for it. The government has been blamed for no action has been taken to meet the long time demand to check the worst situation near the Somasundaram colony.
