The torrential rain in Mussoorie and its surrounding areas on sunday disrupted life. The water level of the famous tourist spot Kempty Falls suddenly increased and the waterfall assumed a fierce form, causing chaos in the area. A large amount of debris also came flowing with the fast flow of water, due to which the water of the waterfall became muddy and water entered the nearby shops. The goods kept in the shops were ruined, although there is no report of any loss of life.

Tourists narrowly escaped

Hundreds of tourists were present in the Kempty Falls area at the time of the incident, who were frightened to see the fierce form of the waterfall. Seeing the situation, the local police showed promptness and sent the tourists to safe places and banned movement in the falls. The police in-charge said that no major accident occurred due to taking precautionary measures in time. The water level of the waterfall became normal in about two hours and the system was restored.

Sudden rise in water

The local administration says that one of the reasons for the sudden rise in the water level of the waterfall is the illegally dumped debris in the area, which came flowing with the rain into the waterfall and the main road. The police have said that they will identify the people who dumped the debris and take action.

Destruction was seen here too

Meanwhile, rain also caused devastation in dehradun and surrounding areas. A tree broke and fell on vehicles in Haridwar, although no major accident occurred. Debris on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway caused hours-long traffic jam, which the administration got opened after a lot of effort. Waterlogging continued in many parts of Dehradun. Not only this, the flow of water in the always dry Song river also became so fast that flood-like conditions were created.
