South actor ram Charan and his wife upasana Kamineni  are expecting their first child . In a recent interview, upasana revealed why she waited a decade to get pregnant and how she did not succumb to societal pressure to have a baby early in her marriage.

In december 2022, Ram's father and veteran actor chiranjeevi announced the news of the couple's entry into parenthood. Now in an interview with Humans of Bombay, upasana opened up about her late pregnancy and how she did not succumb to any kind of pressure


She said, "I am very excited and also very proud that I decided to become a mother when we wanted to and not when society wanted. So, after 10 years of our marriage, we have now decided to have a child. And I think this is the best time, because we are both thriving, we are both financially secure and we can take care of our kids on our own."
She further added, "It was our mutual decision. As a couple, we did not let any pressure come upon us, be it from outside society, our family or outsiders, which says a lot about our relationship." And now we're going to raise our child that way."

Couple will not give birth to a child in America
Recently, ram Charan's appearance on the popular news show 'Good Morning America' fueled rumors that the couple is planning to welcome their first child in the United States. However, upasana had clarified on twitter that her delivery would be in India.
Expressing her excitement for this new phase in her life, upasana had said in a statement, "I am thrilled to give birth to my first child in my country - India, at Apollo Hospitals, a world-class medical OB/GYN. Surrounded by the GYN team. Dr. Sumana Manohar, Dr. Ruma Sinha and now Dr. Jennifer Ashton from the show Good Morning America. This journey has brought us many exciting experiences and we look forward to this new phase in our lives. Have been."
