On Monday, Droupadi Murmu took the oath of office as India's fifteenth president. Murmu stated that she began her life adventure in a remote tribal hamlet in odisha after taking the oath of office and that it felt like a dream to even receive a rudimentary education. Murmu added that despite her challenges, she maintained her commitment and became the first woman in her village to enrol in college.

Droupadi Murmu made history when she was elected as the second woman and first tribal leader to hold the nation's top constitutional position at the age of 64. She is also the youngest leader in history and the first president born after independence. Droupadi Murmu stated in her inaugural speech as India's President that her election to the highest constitutional position is evidence that the country's poor may not only dream but also realise their goals.

On june 20, 1958, Droupadi Murmu was born in the Santhal neighbourhood of the Baidaposi town in Odisha. She started out in politics as a Rairangpur nagar Panchayat councillor in 1997, worked her way up the political ladder to become a minister in the odisha government in 2000, and then the governor of jharkhand in 2015. Ramadevi Women's College, which is located in Bhubaneswar, odisha, awarded Droupadi Murmu her diploma.
