Nine nations worldwide are in possession of nuclear weapons. The US, russia, India, China, France, the UK, Israel, North Korea, and pakistan are among them. Their weapons have the capacity to tremble the entire planet. But there are still a lot of nuclear weapons in the world that no one is aware of, and almost no one seems to care about them.

All of this took place during the Cold war and World war II when countries like the US and russia were on the verge of launching a nuclear strike on one another.  A number of aircraft carrying nuclear bombs were in the air at this time, prepared to cause mayhem at the first sign.

Many nuclear bombs had to be dropped during this time due to various problems that emerged in some flights.  Many of those weapons vanished despite thorough searches and were deemed lost, even though some were later found.  Additionally, several bombs detonated when they fell.

A report claims that since 1950, there have been over 30 instances of nuclear weapons being dropped from airplanes and either detonating upon impact or disappearing.  Nobody has, however, verified such occurrences.

This is because the world would become fearful if people knew about the harm and negative consequences of such tragedies. Nevertheless, a few incidents have surfaced. We call such mishaps 'Broken Arrows.'

A Mark 15 thermonuclear bomb was dropped close to Tybee Island, Georgia, on february 5, 1958. It was reportedly dumped to lighten the airplane so that it could land safely. Searches were done after the bomb was dropped, but it was not located. Even sonar-based underwater detection systems were used, but they didn't work. It was eventually reported missing.

Off the coast of Japan, in 1965, a B43 thermonuclear bomb dropped into the Philippine Sea. It reportedly slipped and fell, and following the incident, it was never recovered. Furthermore, this bomb was also taken by a U.S. Navy officer who disappeared. The search effort cost a significant sum of money, but it was unsuccessful.
