One of South cinema's most gifted directors, Basil Joseph, is now working on Shaktimaan, a major pan-Indian project.  Ranveer Singh had previously confirmed the movie.  However, according to current rumors, allu arjun will play ranveer singh in the movie.  However, in a recent interview, the director clarified the same. 

The director formally acknowledged that there is no truth to the question of whether allu arjun replaced Ranveer. Basil disclosed that there will be no changes to the Shaktimaan project, which will be carried out with Ranveer.  The allegations that allu arjun is turning into a Shaktimaan have been clarified by the confirmation. director Basil who kept muted response for a long time has now broken the ice.
 
It is now evident that allu arjun is not performing Shaktimaan; however, it remains to be seen if he will be collaborating with Basil Joseph. Everyone assumed it was Shaktimaan when Allu Arjun's PR team alluded to a possible collaboration with Basil Joseph shortly after the cancellation of his movie with Trivikram. However, atlee is in Allu Arjun's upcoming movie. Currently, atlee is shooting some talkie portions with deepika padukone and allu arjun at Chennai.
