In a strategic move to bolster national security preparedness, the government of india is set to conduct a comprehensive mock drill across four states bordering pakistan on Wednesday. The coordinated exercise will involve key agencies, including the armed forces, paramilitary units, disaster response teams, and state authorities.

The drill is scheduled to take place simultaneously in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, which share India’s western frontier with Pakistan. It aims to assess the operational readiness of civil and defense establishments in response to potential cross-border threats or emergency scenarios.

Officials from the Ministry of home Affairs confirmed that the mock drill will simulate multiple high-risk scenarios, including infiltration attempts, drone incursions, and chemical or biological threats. The goal is to test the speed, coordination, and effectiveness of inter-agency responses under simulated crisis conditions.

“The exercise is part of routine preparedness measures. It’s vital to continuously evaluate and enhance our security mechanisms, especially in sensitive border regions,” a senior government official said.

Residents in areas close to the borders have been informed in advance to avoid panic during the drill. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate fully with security forces and follow instructions issued by local administrations.
