With films like "RRR," "KGF," "Pushpa: The Rise," "Baahubali," and other significant successes, one could believe that the South indian film industry is booming! It is clearly not the case. And that's what the South's filmmakers find problematic. Their disease is that, aside from the producer, nearly everyone involved in a movie's production—from the actors to the crew members—earns money when a movie is made. The Active telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) convened last week to discuss this matter.

Films like "Baahubali," "Pushpa," and "RRR" are only temporary sensations, but the media simply highlights them. The Guild, however, argues that there are several other movies that can send a film producer into the red far more often than these few infrequent blockbusters. people have a belief that a film producer always makes money because of the stars. The faces of the movie business are the actors. Not the hardship of those working behind the scenes, but their wealth and glamour factor. In the eyes of the general public, if celebrities are making so much money, their employers must be making much more!

How one wishes that this were the case, that stars were actually hired by producers! The reality is that a producer begins working for a star as soon as they are signed. Except for a select few wealthy people, everyone in the hindi film industry borrowed at the rate of 3% per month, or 36% annually! Every three months, interest was due and was subtracted during landing. For a movie producer, the situation was hopeless. Because he used this borrowed money to support not only his film but also his household. He had no other job and worked as a full-time filmmaker. This is all because while being referred to as an industry, it was never accepted as one and is hence not eligible for institutional financing.
