Thug Life is a film made in the collaboration of mani ratnam and Kamal Haasan. The film is jointly produced by madras Talkies, Rajkamal Films, and red Giant Movies. During the promotion event of the film 'Thug Life' held in Delhi, director mani ratnam opened up about his favorite genre films and said that although he likes comedy films, he cannot direct them. He said: "My favorite films are comedies but I am not good at them, so I don't make them. I watch them. kamal haasan does comedy, the comedy films he does are incredible, I could never make them. So, I just watch them," Maniratnam said.
Responding to this, actor kamal haasan said that it is not that mani ratnam cannot direct comedy films, but that he has not chosen to do so. director mani ratnam has given various masterpiece films over the past 40 years. He has also directed a lot of romantic films. But he has never turned to comedy films. There will be no big comedy scenes in his films either.
