Hyderabad sources have stated that five passengers aboard a YatraGenie bus heading for Hyderabad from Vizag were seriously injured when the bus rammed into an acid tanker on Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway at Lingotam in Kattangur Mandal in Nalgonda district.
According to sources the bus driver lost control and crashed into the tanker which was parked off the national highway. Meanwhile, a total of 39 passengers were on board when the incident took place.
The five passengers identified as PV Sudhakar, Venkatesham, and Srinivas of Vizag, Pradeep from Hyderabad and Phaneendra, a resident of Rajahmundry were traveling to Hyderabad. The bus (No AP26 TE 6051) started from Vizag by evening and was scheduled to reach Hyderabad by morning.

Moreover, the acid tanker developed cracks with the impact and hydrochloric acid leaked from it. The acid filled the entire area with thick smoke causing a traffic jam for a few hours. The police visited the site and cleared the traffic jam after shifting the injured to a private hospital. A case was booked on the driver and further investigation is on. The traffic congestion which happened was finally cleared after a long struggle.
