One of the announcements by TS CM K Chandra Sekhara Rao after coming to power was the allocation of land worth 2000 acres which was earmarked for the development of a film city close to Hyderabad.
At a time when there is intense competition among the two Telugu-speaking states to surpass each other involving development, the Andhra Pradesh government’s purported silence about the future of promoting film industry in AP is baffling many given the fact that Chandrababu was instrumental in film industry’s development from mid 90s till the end of his tenure in 2004.
Although KCR has given his assurance for the film industry to continue functioning from Hyderabad, folks in the industry are upset that Chandra Babu Naidu is not making any efforts to expand it in Andhra Pradesh including any special packages given the fact Vizag is very much conducive for film shootings.
Given the expected domination and even vendetta Telangana leaders and film-makers who alleged that Telugu film industry is dominated by Andhra people, Seemandhra film personalities are looking towards Chandrababu with a lot of anticipation.
