Loudspeakers of mosques are again in a dispute...

The allahabad High court had established some unique regulations that forbade the removal of loudspeakers placed in sacred settings.

'Give Muslims an environment of security and harmony'

In a letter written to the Chief Secretary, Commission Chairman Saifi urged that Muslims should be given an atmosphere of security and harmony. Saifi has also given information about this letter while talking to the media. He said, in the letter, I have appealed to the Chief Secretary to the police chiefs and district magistrates of all the districts to provide good facilities and security environment for the Muslims during the month of Ramzan.

In fact, there was a long-standing protest against the reciting of Azaan in a very loud voice from loudspeakers at mosques. Similarly, in many places, the Muslim community created a ruckus in the temples for performing aarti through loudspeakers. Last year, when this protest turned violent in many places, the yogi adityanath government had set rules for loudspeakers at religious places. This action was taken under the order of the year 2017 of the allahabad High Court. In december 2017, the allahabad High court ordered the UP government to implement noise pollution control rules at religious places. These included rules such as taking permission for loudspeakers and not letting the sound go out of the shrine premises. After this, the police removed loudspeakers from religious places on a large scale in the state. According to an estimate, about 1.5 lakh loudspeakers were removed by the police, out of which the maximum number were of loudspeakers installed on mosques.
