Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM and a member of the lok sabha, stated this on saturday that his party is opposed to the Uniform Civil Code. If you (opposition parties) want to beat the BJP, you have to demonstrate the distinction that you will not follow the agenda set by BJP, Owaisi remarked in reference to efforts to establish unity among opposition parties.

They are a group of powerful "Chaudharis," the opposing parties. The leader of AIMIM expressed displeasure that telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not invited to the opposition parties' meeting. They did not invite our telangana chief minister to the meeting, he claimed. He is a significant figure in politics and not an ordinary guy.

Owaisi referred to UCC earlier today as a political attempt to steer the conversation away from important topics like poverty, unemployment, and inflation. On Friday, Owaisi and retired judge Gopala Gowda delivered the party's answer to the Law Commission while speaking to the media in Hyderabad. While the 22nd Law Commission's current notification, dated june 14, 2023, has requested opinions and ideas on the topic of a uniform civil code, Owaisi said that the notification "does not put forth any proposal for comment, but merely refers back to the prior notifications of the 21st Law Commission."

It is no accident that it has been almost precisely five years since the Law Commission's last study of the idea of a uniform civil code. The administration led by the Bhartiya Janata party raises the subject of UCC and attempts to poison the atmosphere and polarise the public in the lead-up to the elections like clockwork every time general elections are a few months away," he added.

A unified civil code, according to Justice Chauhan, who presided over the 21st Law Commission after the Consultation Paper, is not required nor desirable at this time, the speaker claimed. In the lead-up to the lok sabha elections, Owaisi claimed, "The current exercise has no constitutional basis. It is merely a political exercise aimed at sparking a public debate on a sensitive issue to divert the focus of the debate away from poverty, unemployment, inflation, and other issues facing the country." The UCC, he said, will eradicate other traditions.

According to him, the UCC is already facing opposition from several tribes across the nation. "Let the PM come to adilabad in telangana and tell the Gond community about the implementation of the UCC," he rebuked prime minister Modi.
