Anuj Thapan, arrested in the case of firing outside the house of bollywood actor salman khan, committed suicide by hanging himself in the jail bathroom on Wednesday. Anuj Thapan was a resident of Sukhchain village of Fazilka district of Punjab. There has been a reaction from his brother abhishek Thapan on the death of Anuj Thapan. He said that Anuj was taken away from Sangrur by mumbai police 6-7 days ago. A day later, we got a call from the police that we have brought Anuj, he was involved in the firing outside salman Khan's house.
Abhishek Thapan said that on wednesday we got a call that Anuj had committed suicide. But, he was not going to commit suicide. He was killed by the policemen. We want justice. Apart from this, abhishek Thapan told that he works at a shop and his brother was a helper on the truck. His mother works as a daily wage laborer and his father is not there.
Village sarpanch and maternal uncle raised demand for investigation
Earlier, Sukhchain village sarpanch Manoj Kumar Godara and Anuj's maternal uncle Rajneesh also raised questions on Anuj Thapan's suicide. Sarpanch said that Anuj died due to torture in police custody and not by suicide. Anuj's maternal uncle Rajneesh said that my nephew's case should be investigated. He was murdered in police custody.
