Big relief to Gurmeet ram Rahim, HC acquits manager...

Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet ram Rahim Singh was acquitted by the punjab and haryana high court today (Tuesday, May 28) in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh. The high court has also acquitted four other accused. In 2021, the special cbi court in Panchkula had sentenced ram Rahim and four others to life imprisonment. On July 10, 2002, Ranjit Singh was shot dead in Khanpur Koliya of Kurukshetra. Dera chief Gurmeet ram Rahim had challenged the decision of the cbi court in the High Court. Today the division bench of high court Justice Sureshwar Thakur and Justice Lalit Batra acquitted him.

Will not be able to come out of jail

Ram Rahim journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati is guilty in the murder and rape cases. Apart from this, many more cases are pending against him. ram Rahim has also challenged the lower court's decision on rape and Chhatrapati murder case in the high court and the matter is pending in the High Court. In such a situation, it is clear that he cannot come out of jail. ram Rahim is currently lodged in Sunaria jail of Rohtak.

What did the court say in the decision?

On october 18, 2021, the special cbi court of Panchkula had sentenced Dera chief Gurmeet ram Rahim and four others to life imprisonment. The other accused in the case were Avtar Singh, krishna Lal, Jasbir Singh and Sabdil Singh. One accused died during the hearing of the case. The cbi judge had imposed a fine of Rs 31 lakh on ram Rahim, Rs 1.50 lakh on Sabdil and Rs 1.25-1.25 lakh on Jasbir and Krishna. The Panchkula cbi court had said that there was no doubt about the fact that Gurmeet ram Rahim was feeling distressed by the circulation of the anonymous letter, which contained serious allegations of sexual exploitation of Dera nuns. Ranjit Singh was removed from the Dera after his questionable role in making public an anonymous letter which detailed how the Dera chief sexually abused women.
