Prime minister Modi said, "Whenever I talk about (Jawaharlal) Nehru ji, the congress and its entire 'ecosystem' gets agitated."

Prime minister Narendra Modi on tuesday (July 29, 2025) attacked the congress, citing the Indus Water Treaty and the 2008 terrorist attacks in mumbai, and said that after the independence of the country, it (Congress) has always compromised national security. On the allegations of missing the opportunity to take back Pakistan-occupied kashmir (POK) during Operation Sindoor, Modi said, "Today, those who are asking why POK was not taken back, they will first have to answer the question.

Whose government allowed pakistan to occupy this area?

Modi said, "In 1971, 93 thousand Pakistani soldiers were prisoners of our custody. Thousands of kilometers of territory were captured by our army. We were in a position of victory. If there had been even a little bit of vision and understanding during that time, the decision to take back POK could have been made. That was an opportunity that was missed." prime minister Modi said, "The answer is clear, whenever I talk about (Jawaharlal) Nehru ji, congress and its entire ecosystem get agitated."

PM Modi said that it is an old habit of congress to "mortgage" India's interests, and the biggest example of this is the Indus Water Treaty, which Nehru ji had signed with Pakistan. He said, "The Indus Water Treaty was a huge betrayal of India's identity and self-respect. A very large part of the country was pushed into a water crisis."

PM Modi, while targeting the country's first prime minister, said that due to this agreement, the country has fallen behind. "Our farmers suffered losses in farming. Nehru ji knew that 'diplomacy' in which the farmer had no existence."

Prime minister Modi claimed that Nehru ji had accepted the condition at the behest of Pakistan that the silt deposited in the dam could not be cleanedHe said that even later congress governments did not correct this mistake of Nehru ji, but this old mistake has now been corrected, and a concrete decision has been taken.

The prime minister said, "Nehruji's 'blunder' (Indus Water Treaty) has now been suspended in the interest of the country and the farmers. india has decided that blood and water cannot flow together." He said that the congress had neither a 'vision' of national security before nor today, and it "has always compromised on national security."

During the discussion on Operation Sindoor, the prime minister said in the Lok Sabha, on the claims of diplomatic failure by the members of the opposition parties, "These days those people of congress are teaching us the lessons of 'diplomacy', I want to remind them of their diplomacy."

He said that even after the terrorist attack in mumbai on 26 November 2008, Congress's love for pakistan did not stop, and within a few weeks of the attack, under foreign pressure, the Congress-led UPA government started talks with Pakistan. He said that the then congress government did not dare to expel even a single (Pakistani) diplomat from india after this incident and did not even cancel a single visa.

The prime minister said, "If our government can curb terrorism, then what was the compulsion of the previous congress governments that they allowed terrorism to flourish? A big reason for this is their policy of appeasement and vote bank politics."

He mentioned that after the Batla house encounter, a senior congress leader had tears in her eyes, and the news of this incident was spread to every corner of the country to garner votes.

He said that the UPA government had given pakistan the status of 'Most Favored Nation', which it never withdrew. He said, "On one hand, the country was demanding justice for the mumbai attack, while on the other hand, the congress (government) was busy doing business with Pakistan." prime minister Modi said that the country is still suffering the consequences of the decisions taken since independence.

He said, "The entire area of Aksai Chin was declared barren land. Due to this, we lost 38,000 sq km of the country's land. Between 1962 and 1963, congress leaders were proposing to give up Poonch, Uri, Neelam Valley, and Kishanganga of Jammu and Kashmir." He said that in 1966, these people had accepted mediation on the 'Rann of Kutch'. He questioned whether this was their 'vision of national security'.

Modi said, "India handed over 800 sq km of its territory to pakistan, which includes Chadbet. Our army had won the Hajipir Pass (a pass in Jammu and Kashmir) in the 1965 war, but the then congress government returned it." He said that Kartarpur Sahib could have been taken back, but it was also left, and in 1974, Kachchatheevu island was 'gifted' to Sri Lanka.

Targeting the main opposition party, he said that a terrorist who carried out the mumbai attack was caught, the whole world accepted that he was a Pakistani, but the Congress party was busy proving it to be saffron terrorism. Modi alleged, "Congress was busy selling the 'theory' of Hindu terrorism to the world. The prime minister claimed that for appeasement, congress weakened the laws related to terrorism. He said that "...whether our votes match or not, our hearts must match in the interest of the country."

He congratulated the MPs and others who were part of the all-party delegation sent to various countries after the success of Operation Sindoor. At the same time, he also said, "Those who consider themselves big leaders of the congress are having a stomachache as to why India's side was presented before the world. Perhaps some leaders have even been banned from speaking in the House. There is a need to get out of this mentality."

The prime minister said that he appeals to his congress colleagues to "stop giving a clean chit to pakistan under pressure from one family. congress should not turn this moment of victory for the country into a moment of ridicule for the country. congress should correct its mistake."

He said, "We will not let pakistan play with India's future. Therefore, Operation Sindoor is not over. It is continuing. And this is also a notice to pakistan that until it stops the path of terrorism against india, india will keep taking 'action'."
