Most of us keep downloading new apps on our smartphones. Games, social media, photo editors and what not. But have you ever wondered that when you delete an app, does that app really get completely removed from your phone?

The reality is a bit shocking

It has been seen many times that even after deleting the app from the phone, the 'connection' of some apps remains linked to your information. That is, you have deleted the app, but it can still access some of your personal data, such as contacts, location or even your activity.

How is this possible?

When you install an app for the first time, it asks for many permissions, such as access to gallery, messages, microphone, location etc. We often tap on "Allow" without paying attention. Now even if you delete the app from the phone, if you had linked it to a google account, then the app's access may remain to some extent.

How to check which apps are still connected?

1. First open the phone's Settings

2. From there, tap on the google section

3. Now go to All services and then click on Connected Apps.

4. Here you will see a list of all those apps that are linked to your google account in some way or the other

5. This list may also contain apps that you have already deleted from the phone

How to stop an app's data access?

If you see an app that is no longer useful to you or which you have already deleted, then:

Tap on the name of that app,

Then choose the "Disconnect" or "Remove Access" option from there

This will completely disconnect your data from that app and that app will not be able to access your information again.
