Students who have not been vaccinated should not be let into classes. 

Minister Ma. Subramanian has mandated all college students above the age of 18 years to be vaccinated to prevent the spread of the disease. It was attended by the Commissioner of the Corporation of Chennai, the Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare, the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, and officials. 


Later, minister Ma. Subramanian told reporters that tests conducted on students and staff of anna university had revealed that no one was infected with the virus and the students who had already been diagnosed with the covid disease were being treated. He also advised that all college students over the age of 18 must be vaccinated to prevent the spread of infection.

The minister said that cultural performances or student gatherings were not allowed in the colleges and only necessary events like graduation would be allowed. Meanwhile, People's Welfare Secretary Radhakrishnan has said that the daily corona exposure comes to zero only with the full cooperation of the public. The Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare has advised that the death toll in tamil Nadu is due to the Delta-type infection and the public should act with vigilance.
