islam is currently the religion with the fastest rate of growth in the world, and several causes are contributing to the fast growth of the Muslim population worldwide. According to a recent Pew Research Center research, the number of Muslims will increase by an astounding 70% over the next 35 years, surpassing 3 billion by 2060, and islam will overtake christianity as the most popular religion in the world.

Christianity is currently the most popular religion in the world, with 31% of the 7.3 billion people on the planet practicing it, followed by islam in second place and hinduism in third, according to a Pew research on the world's fastest-growing religions. However, given that the number of Muslims is predicted to increase significantly by 2060, the study expects this dynamic to substantially change over the next three and a half decades.

Islam to replace christianity as the world's largest religion
Islam, the religion with the fastest rate of growth in the globe, is expected to keep rising steadily, according to the study, and by 2060, Muslims will probably be the largest religious group in the world.  According to the report, the high reproduction rate, the practice of religious conversion, and the young population are the three main causes of the Muslim population boom.

The study predicts that by 2060, the world's population will have grown by about 32%, while the number of Muslims will have increased by up to 70%, more than twice the average. In 2015, there were 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide; by 2060, that number is predicted to rise to three billion, according to a Pew Research study that generated this projection for the 45 years between 2015 and 2060.

Key reasons for the increase in the Muslim population
According to the report, a number of variables, including the Muslim population's youthful demographic and the highest reproduction rate among religious groups, are to blame for the population's sharp growth. According to the survey, Muslim women have a fertility rate of 3.1, while Christian women have a fertility rate of 2.7.

According to the report, Muslims and Christians in developing nations have exceptionally high fertility rates and low mortality rates, which contribute to their fast-growing populations. In areas like Sub-Saharan Africa, this population is predicted to increase by 12% by 2050.

According to the Pew Research Center's 2010 survey, 34% of Muslims worldwide were under the age of 15, 60% were between the ages of 15 and 59, and only 7% were 60 or older. The majority of Muslims reside in the Middle east and Africa, where population growth is expected to be the fastest worldwide.
