
A food delivery gone incorrect has sparked extreme concerns over client protection and duty at swiggy after a user uncovered what seems to be an ability scam related to a faux shipping agent—and a shockingly casual reaction from the platform.
When does dinner become a purple flag?
In a now-viral instagram reel, a swiggy user, Ritesh Mishra (@ritxsh_03), designated how a recurring meals order turned into a nerve-wracking experience. The app confirmed repeated delays, with no clean updates or alerts. The rider's location became static, and predicted transport times saved stretching, but there has been no communication from Swiggy.
However, then came a telephone name. "Sir, there may be a billing difficulty. swiggy hasn't processed the charge. We're sending our own man. Just pay him—we're going to control the refund."
The caller sounded calm and professional. However, what is observed becomes far from a trendy process.
No badge, no identification—just a stranger at the door.
Soon after the call, a man claiming to be the shipping person confirmed. He wore no uniform, had no swiggy identity, and didn't give any evidence of employment.
Feeling suspicious, the consumer started recording the interplay. That is when the justifications commenced pouring in—"He" is our employee," and "Speak to our group chief" have been some of the vague factors given.
Refusing to fall for it, the patron dispatched the man again and declined to pay. It became clear this wasn't only a behind-schedule order—it turned into a scam.
Even more surprising becomes Swiggy's reaction: no fraud alert, no protection communique—just a promo code.
"Sorry, sir, here's a coupon," became all of the consumer acquired.
'That is risky, now, not simply shady.'
Calling out the company's loss of safeguards, the person didn't hold back: "Swiggy, get critical. You're not simply dropping accept as true with it—you're risking lives."
