Thane Double murder Case: Seven Arrested Under MCOCA for Organised Crime Activities

Background of the Case:


A brutal double murder took place on august 11 in Khardi village, Bhiwandi, thane district.


Praful Tangdi (42) was the primary target, killed in his office due to an old rivalry.


Chetan Tangdi (22), his cousin and office employee, was also murdered when he tried to intervene.


Details of the Crime:


The victims were attacked with swords and other sharp weapons.

The attackers carefully monitored Praful Tangdi’s movements before executing the plan.


The violence was premeditated and executed with precision, indicating gang involvement.


Investigation and Arrests:


Initial charges were filed under the IPC and Arms Act.


Police launched an intensive manhunt, forming several teams.


The accused were caught using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs.


MCOCA Charges:


Seven individuals have now been booked under the maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).


The main conspirator, Vicky Mhatre, is among those arrested.
