Chennai — tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin presided over a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Implementation Conference on February 12, 2026, focusing on converting signed investment agreements into operational projects. The event — also called the Conversion Conclave — was aimed at ensuring the execution of commitments made with industries over the past five years and demonstrating real progress on job creation and economic development.
📈 Focus on Implementation, Not Just Signing
Stalin emphasized that tamil Nadu’s strategy goes beyond simply signing MoUs with investors. Instead, the government carefully tracks progress through a wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital dashboard that follows each commitment from approval to completion. This platform monitors land acquisition, departmental clearances, construction milestones, and the start of production — with escalation to top officials if delays occur.
He stressed that the state has achieved a high conversion rate, with most MoUs evolving into real factories, facilities and job opportunities rather than remaining just signed documents.
💼 Impressive Investment and job Figures
According to official data presented at the conference:
1,179 MoUs worth ₹12.37 lakh crore were signed between 2021 and 2026.
Of these, 867 projects are in advanced stages of implementation, and more than a third are already operational.
The projects are projected to generate employment for 36.52 lakh people across tamil Nadu.
The chief minister highlighted that conversion performance in tamil Nadu is among the best in India, with commitments being turned into factories, businesses, and jobs.
📊 Launch of New Projects and Investment Commitment
During the conference, stalin inaugurated and laid foundations for key projects:
52 completed projects worth ₹31,934 crore were launched, expected to provide jobs for about 82,664 people.
71 new investment projects worth ₹36,968 crore were initiated, projected to create 60,823 employment opportunities.
Additionally, two MoUs worth ₹5,000 crore were signed, promising further job creation.
These projects span multiple districts in tamil Nadu, including Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Trichy, Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Coimbatore, Namakkal, and Erode.
📌 Government’s Message on Growth and Development
Chief minister stalin reiterated that tamil Nadu’s growth is driven by sustained implementation efforts and not just headline announcements. He emphasized that the state’s industrial policies are outcome-oriented and geared toward long‑term benefits for the public.
He also noted that the Conversion Conclave was specifically intended to showcase the government’s track record in turning promises into real economic activity and ready employment for youth.
🧭 Outcome and Future Expectations
The conference highlights tamil Nadu’s steady industrial growth and reinforces the state’s position as a leading destination for investment in India. With a strong emphasis on execution, job creation, and monitoring of projects, the government aims to continue strengthening economic opportunities across the state.
