MoU Signed in the Presence of chief minister M.K. Stalin

Chennai: The government of tamil Nadu has announced that Japan-based MinebeaMitsumi Inc. and the Aquus Group will invest ₹5,980 crore in the state. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of chief minister M. K. Stalin.

Major Boost to Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing

MinebeaMitsumi Inc., a leading Japanese multinational company, specializes in the manufacturing of semiconductor components, motors, sensors, and various electronic devices. The proposed investment is expected to significantly strengthen tamil Nadu’s position as a major hub for electronics and advanced manufacturing in India.

The company’s expansion plans in the state are aimed at enhancing production capacity and meeting growing global demand for high-quality electronic components.

Employment Generation and Economic Growth

According to the official statement, the ₹5,980 crore investment is expected to create substantial employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly. The project will not only generate skilled jobs but also support ancillary industries and local suppliers.

The chief minister stated that tamil Nadu continues to attract global investors due to its strong industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce, and investor-friendly policies.

Strengthening Indo-Japan Industrial Ties

This collaboration further strengthens economic ties between india and Japan, particularly in high-technology sectors such as semiconductors and precision manufacturing. The government emphasized that such investments reflect the confidence international companies have in tamil Nadu’s infrastructure and governance.

With this new agreement, tamil Nadu reinforces its status as one of India’s leading destinations for foreign direct investment and industrial growth.
