Indian women consider it their duty to take responsibility of their husband, children and other family members first. In the process of all this, they forget to take care of themselves. They ignore small problems, the loss of which they have to bear with great trouble. Actually, due to this lifestyle, women are not very serious about their health. This trend is seen not only in the elderly, but also in young women and girls. This is the reason why dangerous diseases like cervical cancer gradually make them their victims. Let us know what is the right age for cervical cancer screening in women? Which test is best for this and how much does it cost?
AIIMS delhi doctor said this
Let us tell you that recently a workshop was organized on the issue of cancer in AIIMS Delhi. In this, Dr. abhishek Shankar, Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology Department, AIIMS, told that if your age is 30 years or more, then there is no need to get repeated screening of cervical cancer. Now such an option has been found in the form of HPV dna test, which gives information about the risk of cancer in five years. He told that HPV dna test not only identifies the initial stage of cancer, but it also detects the infection of the virus.
How is this test done?
According to Dr. Shankar, HPV (Human Papillomavirus) dna test gives accurate results up to 95 percent and it is more effective than Pap smear test. In this test, sample is taken from the cervix of women. In a few minutes, doctors come to know whether the dna of HPV virus is present in the woman's body or not. He told that this test can be done in AIIMS. The special thing is that women can also give samples for this test themselves.
What is the situation of cervical cancer in India?
According to Dr. suman Bhaskar, head of Radiation Oncology Department of AIIMS, cases of cervical cancer are increasing rapidly in India.
