The Malayalam Megastar Mammootty had in the past starred in few Telugu flicks like the K Vishwanath directorial Swathi Kiranam, Surya Putrulu, and Railway coolie, and has also made his presence felt in the Tollywood industry, with his dubbed releases of the early 90s.
Now, it has been revealed that, the ever handsome actor has been approached to play the lead role in the biopic of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. This movie will reportedly be directed by Mahi V Raghav, who started off with the critically acclaimed Paathshaala and scored a hit last year with the horror comedy Anando Brahma last year.
While the makers are contemplating the title of the film to be Yatra, reports are that the team has approached Lady Superstar Nayanthara to play the female lead in this political biopic. Mammootty and Nayanthara had earlier been paired in films like Thaskaraveeran, Puthiya Niyamam to name a few. Yatra will be produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy.
