On thursday night, hyderabad was pounded by torrential downpours that disrupted life in certain areas. Even if there was some relief from the summer heat, Hyderabadis have been having a difficult time lately due to unforeseen rainfall. In numerous locations, the recent heavy rains have led to issues including water logging, flooding, and overflowing drains, which have been made worse by erratic electricity and outages.

Because of the traffic congestion brought on by these unforeseen rains, many in the IT industry suffered greatly. Techies on the night shift had to call their superiors in an emergency to get permission to work from home. Many people had to wait for hours before receiving their orders from swiggy and zomato for food delivery. Due to the rains, even shipping fees increased. Hyderabadians who had planned to spend the evening having fun at bars and pubs had to change their plans because the nightlife was also hampered by these unforeseen rains.

In the meantime, Hyderabad's explosive growth over the previous two decades, which included the construction of high-rise buildings, flyovers, a metro rail system, and future ring roads, boosted traffic, population, and trash production. Looking at the bigger picture, it is evident that the urbanisation and change of the city, especially in the Cyberabad region, which is home to significant international technology businesses and sizable residential complexes, has not been well-planned or with a clear vision for infrastructure like drainage systems.
