Some regions of india, especially maharashtra, may no longer offer the daily ease of using UPI and other wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital payment options at gas stations.

Due to increased cyber fraud, several gas station owners have declared their intention to cease taking payments using UPI, cards, and other online channels. A Times of india story claims that starting on May 10, gas stations in numerous cities will likely stop accepting card payments in addition to UPI payments. This move was made in response to increasing cybercrime incidents in which criminals use internet banking or credit card hacking to pay for fuel. Authorities frequently reverse these illegal transactions after they are detected, leaving pump owners in a difficult financial situation.

The Vidarbha Petroleum Dealers Association emphasized that these kinds of instances are causing gasoline pump operators to suffer large financial losses. Their bank accounts have even been frozen in several instances, making it challenging to get money back or carry on with business as usual.

These worries were mirrored by the Federation of All maharashtra Petroleum Dealers Association, which said that pump owners are unlikely to take on additional losses until the government responds transparently and efficiently.  The association's president, amit Gupta, affirmed that the government has been informed and that digital payments won't start up again until they have received resolute guarantees of security and remediation.

In addition, the Nashik petrol Pump Dealers Association supported the ruling, pointing to multiple grievances from its members.  Now that the maharashtra Petroleum Association is getting ready to take this step, everyone is watching to see how it will affect gas stations in other states.
