List of world's miserable countries: Where is India?

Zimbabwe tops the list of the world's most miserable countries. Renowned economist Steve Hanke has released his annual misery index. According to his published list, zimbabwe is the most miserable country in the world. Inflation and economic mismanagement are responsible for the unhappiness of Zimbabweans, the report said. The misery index was created after examining 157 countries. The misery index is calculated using year-end unemployment, inflation and bank credit ratios, and real GDP per capita. Besides Zimbabwe, Venezuela, syria, Lebanon, and sudan make up the top 5 on the list. Inflation is the main cause of misery in countries other than Syria. At the same time, syria is suffering from unemployment.
India is ranked 103rd on this list. Unemployment contributes to India's woes. However, india is ahead of countries like brazil (27), pakistan (35), nepal (63), and sweden (88). Finland, ranked the happiest country in the world for 6 consecutive years by the World Happiness Report, ranks 109th on the misery index. The US ranks 134th. Currently mired in economic and political crisis, pakistan is ranked 35th on the list of the most miserable countries in the world. The country's inflation is the most contributing factor.
