2 years after her husband Major  Vibhuti shankar Dhoundiyal died in a gun battle with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in Kashmir's Pulwama, Nitika Kaul has joined the indian army today. She graduated from Officers Training Academy in chennai today. Nitika cleared the Short service Commission (SSC) examination as well as the interview in 2020 and she said this is how she can pay tribute to her husband and this is how she feels close to him.


Her move to join the army after the death of her husband has been appreciated by various people and some of them even called it as a befitting tribute to her late husband. Some of them even called her tribute an "Inspirational Story". After graduating, Kaul met the press and said, "I took my own time to recover from the major loss and the decision to sit for the Short service Commission examination happened gradually. 


Just filling the form in september last year was a big decision. But I had decided that I want to walk on a similar path like my husband." She got married in 2019 and 15 days after her husband died she stood up on her feet again and resumed her job.
