Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and a member of the hyderabad legislature, responded on social media on sunday to an allegation that his great-grandfather was a Hindu Brahmin. It all began when a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, claimed that Farooq Abdullah, Asaduddin Owaisi, and Jinnah's great-grandfathers were Hindus. The user further showed Hinduphobia while stating that these figures represent Muslims in modern times.

Owaisi tweeted back in response, "I find it amusing that even when they invent a lineage, Sanghis still need to identify a Brahmin ancestor for me." We are all Adam and Hawa AS's offspring, he said. In my opinion, India's modern character is best exemplified by the democratic struggle of Muslims for equal citizenship and rights. "Hinduphobia" is not what this is.

Ghulam Nabi Azad's comments recently sparked controversy. He claimed that the bulk of Muslims in india are sprung from Hindu converts. Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has addressed a claim made on social media that Hindu Brahmin Tulsiramdas was his great-grandfather in the midst of a growing conversation over genealogy and religious ancestry. Owaisi responded sharply to the claim's invocation of such a pedigree. He expressed sardonic amusement at the ongoing practise in some circles of attributing a Brahmin background to him, even in made-up genealogies.
