
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President donald trump recently had a phone conversation. According to Kremlin official Yuri Ushakov, during this conversation between the leaders of the two countries, the recent military conflict between india and pakistan was also discussed.
Giving information about the dialogue between the heads of state of the two countries, Ushakov said that during the conversation held on wednesday (June 4, 2025), the two leaders discussed ukraine and some other issues.
India clarified its stand on ceasefire
Russia's state news agency TASS quoted Ushakov as saying, "They also discussed West Asia and the armed conflict between india and pakistan, which was prevented by the personal intervention of President Trump." However, Ushakov did not give detailed information about it.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that he has prevented a military conflict between india and Pakistan. However, india has made it clear that the agreement to prevent military conflict with pakistan was reached after direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two armies.
Shahbaz Sharif seeks Vladimir Putin's help in resolving conflict with India
Meanwhile, Syed Tariq Fatmi, special assistant to Pakistani prime minister Shahbaz Sharif, said that the Pakistani prime minister has urged Russian President Putin to assist in resolving the conflict with India. Fatmi met Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in moscow on tuesday (June 3, 2025) and handed over a letter from Sharif to Putin.
Indian delegation gets Russia's support against terrorism
His visit comes days after the highly successful visit of an all-party parliamentary delegation to india led by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) mp Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. The indian delegation briefed on Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism, following which it received strong Russian support for India's zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
