These people should not link Aadhaar card with PAN number..!?

The deadline for linking a PAN card with an Aadhaar card ends on march 31, 2023. If the PAN-Aadhaar linking process is not done by this specified date, the PAN card, known as the Permanent Account Number, will become inactive, the government has said. It is mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN which is announced by the governement. This is not the first time that the government is urging people to link their Aadhaar with their PAN, it has been urging people many times before. If the PAN is not linked with Aadhaar within the government-specified deadline, the PAN card will become inactive from april 1. Information technology Department said in this regard. "PAN-Aadhaar Linking Mandatory, Don't Delay, Link Today. As per IT Act, it is mandatory for all PAN holders who do not fall under the exempt category to link their Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) with their Aadhaar before march 31, 2023. From april 1, 2023, unlinked PAN The number will be deactivated, it said. According to a notification issued by the Finance Ministry in 2017, four categories have been exempted from the PAN-Aadhaar linking mandate. Let's see who falls under those four categories below.
1) Residents of North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.


2) Non-resident as per Income Tax Act, 1961.

3) Persons aged 80 years or above.

4. Non-citizen of India.

The process to Link PAN Card with Aadhaar Card:

- Go to Incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in official website of the Income Tax Department of India.

- Click on 'Link Aadhaar'.

- Enter PAN and Aadhaar number.

- Click on Continue to make payment through e-Pay Tax.

- OTP can be received by confirming PAN and mobile number.
- After OTP verification, the e-Pay Tax page will open.


- Now click on Continue on the Income Tax tile.

- Select AY (2023-24) and Payment Type as Other Receipts (500) and continue.

- Fill in the applicable amount (Rs. 1,000) and click on proceed.

- Aadhaar linkage requests should be submitted on the e-filing portal.

After 4-5 working days of payment, in e-Filing Portal > Login > Dashboard, 'Link Aadhaar to PAN; Under the option, click on 'Link Aadhaar'. Enter the PAN and Aadhaar number and click on “Verify”. Then when the pop-up message "Your payment details have been verified" appears, click on "Continue" on the pop-up message to submit the Aadhaar linking request. Now fill in the needed details and click on the "Link Aadhaar". Now you have to enter the 6-digit OTP which will be sent to your mobile number. After that, your request for Aadhaar-PAN linking will be successful.
