Women in cinema Collective (WCC) members met with kerala Women's Commission chairman P Satheedevi in kozhikode on Sunday, january 16 to discuss the latest developments in the kerala actor rape case. They urged the commission to guarantee that the victim actor receives justice and to intervene to get the hema Commission report on women's issues in the malayalam movie industry made public. The meeting took place between 10.15 and 11 a.m. yesterday. At the government guest home in kozhikode, WCC members anjali Menon, Parvathy, Padhma Priya, Deedhi Damodaran, Padmini, and Sayanora met with the Commission chairman.

Kerala's government appointed a three-member panel early last month to execute the hema Commission's suggestions. However, the government has been accused of delaying action since the report was submitted more than two years ago in december 2019, and it has yet to be made public, despite numerous requests by WCC members.

In addition, the kerala State Chalachitra Academy reported that the Commission's expense was Rs 1.06.55000 in response to a Right to Information Act request from Raju Vazhakkala, a resident of Kakkanad in Kochi. The Department of Cultural Affairs established the hema Commission in July 2017, following the actor assault.
