After the bharatiya janata party (BJP) swept three heartland states of Chhattisgarh, madhya pradesh, and rajasthan in a dominant electoral display on Sunday, renowned African-American singer and actress Mary Millben lauded prime minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to X, Mary Millben said, "Today’s election results in #India, the @BJP4India winning the heartland states of rajasthan, madhya pradesh and Chhattisgarh, is a precursor to a strong victory for PM @narendramodi in 2024." "He is the #IndiaFirst candidate and the best leader for the US-India relationship," Millben said in her X post.

The bharatiya janata party (BJP) captured three heartland states, Chhattisgarh, madhya pradesh, and rajasthan, in an overwhelming electoral performance on Sunday. The Congress, on the other hand, found solace in a huge success in Telangana.

Earlier that day, on september 7, the African-American musician praised prime minister Modi for his proposal to incorporate the African Union as a full member of the G20, a move that the US backed.

"I applaud prime minister Modi's proposal to admit the African Union as a full G20 member." In a video message, Millben stated, "The global south can now shape policies that affect our world."

Millben, 41, is well-known in india for her renditions of the National Anthem and the devotional bhajan 'Om jai Jagdish Hare'. She performed India's national hymn 'Jana Gana Mana' at a june event in the united states during the prime minister's visit.
