Eid-ul-Fitr : Crescent seen in Kerala, Ladakh, J&K

On tuesday, april 09, 2024, which is Ramadan 29, 1445 Hijri, Muslims in india, Pakistan, Australia, Singapore, bangladesh, and other South Asian nations prepared to see the new crescent moon. This event would signal the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the month of Shawwal, which begins on Eid-ul-Fitr.

Muslims in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other Middle Eastern and Western countries did not see the Shawwal crescent moon on april 8 evening. As a result, they kept up their fast today and will celebrate Chand Raat on tuesday evening. Meanwhile, Muslims in South Asian countries, such as india, Pakistan, Australia, Singapore, bangladesh, and others, broke their fast this evening and performed maghrib prayers.

Eid-ul-Fitr will now be celebrated on Thursday, april 11, with the exception of Kerala, Ladakh, and Jammu and Kashmir, where the crescent was sighted tonight; therefore, they will celebrate together with the Muslims in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, USA, United Kingdom, and other countries in the Middle east and West. The crescent moon of Shawwal was sighted tonight in two states in india and some cities in Pakistan. The Muslims in the rest of our country will continue fasting alongside bangladesh and other South Asian nations. In Kerala, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Pakistan, Chand Raat falls on Wednesday, april 09, while Eid-ul-Fitr is observed on Thursday, april 11, 2024, for the rest of India. This means that Muslims in these regions will observe a 30-day fast during Ramadan, as opposed to their Middle Eastern and Western counterparts' 29-day fast.
