 An indian Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was taken into custody by pakistan Rangers after he accidentally crossed the border of Punjab. According to the report of news agency PTI, an official said that talks are going on between the forces of the two countries for the release of the jawan. He said that Constable PK Singh of the 182nd Battalion was taken into custody by pakistan Rangers from across the Ferozepur border on wednesday (23 april 2025).


How did the Pakistani Rangers catch BSF

The officer said that the jawan was in uniform and also had a service rifle. He said that the BSF jawan was with the farmers and he proceeded to rest in the shade, after which he was caught by the Pakistani Rangers. Officials said that flag meetings are going on between the forces of both countries for the release of the BSF jawan.


The official said that such incidents are not uncommon and such incidents have happened between the two sides before. The official said that this incident has happened in the backdrop of the pahalgam terror attack, after which india has taken several steps against pakistan for sponsoring terrorism.


India and pakistan took action against each other

This incident happened at a time when india and pakistan have taken tough decisions against each other regarding the pahalgam terror attack. After India's action, the pakistan government convened a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on thursday (24 april 2025). In the meeting, the pakistan government announced to end of trade relations with India.


Along with this, pakistan has closed its airspace for indian aircraft. On India's suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, pakistan said that stopping water is an act of war. Pakistan has strongly opposed India's decision to unilaterally suspend the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) and announced to raise the issue at the World bank and other international forums.
