People performing pujas for their new automobiles, bikes, or even trucks is something we're all accustomed to seeing. Recently, however, a video caught the internet off guard. This time, the puja was for a private jet rather than an automobile. Yes, you read correctly. One of India's most prominent priests, Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma, performed a full-fledged Hindu puja ceremony on a Gulfstream G280 plane valued at around Rs. 200 crore.

The panditji himself posted the footage to Instagram, showing him approaching the private jet parked at an airport in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Then, on the tarmac, he takes a seat in front of the plane and starts the ceremony. Chanting mantras, lighting the holy fire, and saying the customary prayers were all part of the rite.

The priest then proceeded to the front of the jet and gave it a tilak, or vermilion mark, which is a typical component of many indian ceremonies. To carry on the ceremony, he also entered the airplane. In order to obtain blessings for prosperous travel and safe travel, little idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Saraswati were worshipped inside.

Even the pilot and the owner of the plane can be seen in the video sitting in the cockpit and silently observing the puja as it goes on. Following the ceremony, the owner participated in the last rites, and a garland was placed on the outside of the airplane.  Later, he and the Pandit were spotted taking a happy selfie.

Jet owner, still a mystery
The owner of the jet has not been identified, even though the footage provides a wealth of information about the ceremony. What is known is that the aircraft is registered with San Marino, California-based Empire Aviation. However, the fact that the puja was conducted in india suggests that the buyer might be a wealthy indian businessman.

The man behind the ritual: Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma
The priest in the widely shared private jet video is Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma, a prominent indian astrologer and spiritual leader.  He is revered for performing significant Hindu rites for numerous wealthy families and business magnates.  Indeed, he presided over the wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of India's wealthiest man, mukesh Ambani.
