Jackie Chan provides an optimistic Rush Hour 4 update.  The actor acknowledged that he was in negotiations to create the film in 2022, even if he had denied his involvement in the fourth film in 2019.  The original Rush Hour film, which was directed by Brett Ratner and came out in 1998, stars Chan and chris Tucker as LAPD Detective james Carter and hong kong Detective Inspector Lee, respectively. After that, Ratner directed the series' next two films, but he hasn't helmed a motion picture since 2014.

Jackie Chan: I don't know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer. Hurry up! Otherwise, chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We'll be old men doing Rush Hour.

India Herald: You want to do it, though?

Jackie Chan: Yes! And I want to do [another] shanghai Knights, shanghai Dawn. Shangai Noon, shanghai Knights, and shanghai Dawn. The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4

There hasn't been much news about the project thus far.  After other celebrities came forward with claims of sexual harassment and misconduct, Ratner left hollywood in 2018.  Although the film's director is unknown, it appears that Chan and Tucker will both be returning as the dynamic duo in Rush Hour 4, which will investigate a new mission.

Tucker has already stated that he would like to play the same part again in the next Rush Hour film.  Given Chan's passion for the subject, the film might go quickly provided the script and the studio are successful.  His remarks, however, also seem to imply that there is some degree of ambiguity surrounding the project because it is up to the writers and studios.  Although nothing has been verified, it was claimed that Ratner would return as director of Rush Hour 4, which Lionsgate was involved in producing.
