Apple's business expanding in india has suffered a major setback. Foxconn, the largest manufacturer of iPhones, has sent back more than 300 Chinese engineers and technicians to their country. This has posed a huge challenge to the efforts to increase iphone 17 production in India. According to Bloomberg reports, after sending back such a large number of Chinese staff for the last two months, now only Taiwanese staff are left in Foxocnn's plant in South India.

Setback to apple business in India

Apple's efforts to rapidly expand its business in india are expected to be affected after sending back such a large number of Chinese people. This is because Foxconn was working on rapid expansion to bring the iphone 17 to the market soon. However, it is being said that even though it will not have any effect on the quality of the product, its production timeline will definitely be affected.

According to reports, there was constant pressure from china not to send technology related to iphone production to india and South Asia and also to send trained staff from there. This is a big effort to prevent the iphone business from shifting from there after the trade tension between the US and China.

Impact on iphone expansion

It is worth noting that at present one-fifth of Apple's total production is being produced in india and it has achieved this success in just four years. Apple's attempt was to have most of the phones sold in the US produced in india by the end of 2026. But due to the huge shortage of technical stock, this timeline may now be affected.

Earlier, US President donald trump had criticized apple for shifting its business from china to india and said that he wanted apple to expand its production capacity within the US. Along with this, despite continuous diplomatic talks, relations between india and china have remained sour.
