Why Andhra is top in cash seizures at Rs.72 crore even one week ahead of election notification ? Because it is going to cost over Rs.25 crore for each assembly and around Rs.50 to 100 crore for the parliament seats in this election .
The moot question is that cash transactions are more during electioneering than pastic card or bank dealings with ECI showing to accountablity and transparency in every election expenditure . On a single day yesterday Rs.7.5 crore were siezed in Guntur and Hyderabad .All the cash was in brand new notes and even stapled with RBI stamp in Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 note bundles . TDP and YSRC are favourites among corporate funders as each party has already gathered around Rs. 5000 crore while the Congress has few takers with hardly Rs.4,000 crore so far . But RS has a bumper collection of Rs. 12,000 crore already.Even BJP has managed to raise a Rs.1000 crore in AP.
Cash is carried in gunny bags, carry bags and also kept in ice boxes and rice bags . Is Chittoor they found hue cash kept in a lorry full of tomato and mango cargo . In Nellore cash was found in jaggery load . In Hyderabad the cash was found in two baskets of apple and santra . Now political parties which allocated just Rs.5 to 10 lakhs for each assembly and Rs,50 lakhs to parliament have upgraded to Rs. One crore for assembly and Rs.5 crore to parliament ( officially ). Things could change once campaign picks up .
