Earlier, when the telugu desam party was in power, she was nominated to the rajya sabha for the first time in the ap quota.
Nirmala along with her fellow minister Suresh Prabhu went to the rajya sabha on behalf of the then TDP. It should be noted here, however, that any nomination she makes from any state would be of no great use to that state. The APK had no use for her when she was represented from this state. She did not care how much she wanted to fund projects like Polavaram. Those who are ministers of ministries will be funded only if someone thinks Modi.
