A. revanth reddy, the leader of the telangana congress, was prevented from going to the state secretariat on monday by police in Hyderabad. revanth reddy was stopped by police outside Telephone Bhavan, close to the Secretariat. revanth, a parliamentarian as well, objected to the police intervention. In relation to the leasing of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to a private party, he claimed he was going to the secretariat to meet with Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar.

He questioned the government's choice to grant a 30-year lease to ORR. revanth was allegedly stopped because he had not obtained permission to speak with officials. The head of the telangana Pradesh congress Committee (TPCC) maintained that going to the secretariat does not require making an appointment. revanth was curious as to the regulations that had led to his detention. The secretariat, which was opened on sunday, now has increased police security. At the entrance, barriers have been put in place.

The leasing of ORR by the government, according to the tpcc chief, is a significant swindle. According to him, the project was leased out for merely Rs 7,380 crore, while having the potential to generate Rs 30,000 crore over the following ten years. revanth had already disclosed to media on sunday that the transaction included significant money.

He stated that the ORR, which is anticipated to increase by at least 10% annually, cannot be handed away at a free leasing fee. He asserted that the ORR generates daily toll revenue of Rs 2 crore and that the extension without a tender benefited powerful individuals. He demanded an explanation from minister for Municipal Administration K. T. Rama Rao for this decision.
