All india congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of rajasthan, former deputy chief minister of
Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has appointed Kota congress leader Anup Thakur as the state general
secretary of rajasthan Congress. There is joy with Thakur’s appointment in the state including Kota division.
Anup Thakur has played important responsibilities in many organizations including State congress Committee.
Thakur is in congress, State General Secretary of NSUI, district President of youth congress Kota, State Vice
President of rajasthan youth congress, Organizer of rajasthan congress Seva Dal, Member of rtc and Central
Jail Committee, Elected Member of State congress Committee, Member of State congress Committee. Has held
the responsibility of important posts like media Coordinator. He was looking after the work of state spokesperson
of congress for the last 9 years. In view of his long experience, the organization has entrusted him with the
responsibility of General Secretary.
After Pankaj Mehta joined BJP, Congress's link in Kota had weakened.
Anup Thakur was demanding mla ticket from Kota South assembly and his name was running among the
selected two candidates. But state president of Mahila congress Rakhi gautam was given ticket from Kota South
Assembly. After that, Anup Thakur played an important role in the entire election while working in the interest of
the party. congress faced a major setback in Kota division after senior congress leader of Kota, Pankaj Mehta,
who was the vice-president of Khadi village Industries Board and state general secretary, joined BJP. Keeping
this in view, a young face has been made the General Secretary.
