Rahul gandhi asked why the military forces and the indian air Force were asked not to attack Pakistan's military infrastructure and air defense system?
Leader of Opposition in the lok sabha Rahul gandhi said in his speech on tuesday (July 29, 2025) that if prime minister Narendra Modi has even 50 percent of the courage of former prime minister Indira gandhi, then he should say that US President donald trump is lying about the ceasefire between india and pakistan and the indian jets did not fall.
Speaking during the discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' in the lok sabha, Rahul Gandhi said that donald trump has so far claimed 29 times that he has brought about a ceasefire. He said that india cannot tolerate a prime minister who does not dare to say that trump is lying about the ceasefire and the downing of the indian jet.
Targeted Rajnath Singh's speech
Referring to the speech given by Defense minister Rajnath Singh in parliament on Monday, he said that this only shows that the Modi government lacks political will. He asked why else the Modi government told the pakistan government, less than half an hour after starting Operation Sindoor, that it had not attacked its military installations and that it did not want to escalate the conflict.
He asked why the military forces and the indian air Force were told not to attack Pakistan's military infrastructure and air defense system? He said that the indian armed forces were not given any operational freedom because the government lacked political will. He stressed that at such a time, the prime minister using the army to save his image is dangerous for the country. The military forces should be used only in the national interest.
Attack on PM Modi by mentioning Indira Gandhi
Rahul gandhi also hit back at Defense minister Rajnath Singh for comparing the 1971 war and Operation Sindoor. He reminded us that there was political will in 1971. The seventh fleet of America was coming, but the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi gave complete freedom to the army. After this, one lakh Pakistani soldiers surrendered, and Bangladesh was formed.
Questions raised on foreign policy, too
Rahul gandhi also raised questions on the foreign policy of the Modi government and said that the pahalgam terror attack was planned by the pakistan government. Despite this, no country in the world condemned Pakistan. He also reminded that the mastermind of the pahalgam terror attack and Pakistani army Chief Asim Munir was invited by President donald trump to dinner at the White House. He called it a big diplomatic failure of the Modi government.
Regarding the alliance between pakistan and China, Rahul gandhi said that the indian military forces did not fight pakistan alone, but fought the armies of both pakistan and China. He reminded the house that he had warned about the Pakistan-China alliance a few months ago, but it was not taken seriously.
