
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 6,450 crore on Friday, May 30. While domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 9,095 crore. This supported the capital market. During the trading session, domestic investors bought shares worth Rs 20,673 crore and sold shares worth Rs 11,577 crore. While foreign investors bought shares worth Rs 44,434 crore and sold shares worth Rs 50,884 crore.
This is the highest selling so far this year
Foreign investors have sold shares worth Rs 1,21,414 crore from the indian stock market so far this year. While domestic investors have bought shares worth Rs 2,75,264 crore. Nifty's trend remained sluggish on Friday. This is the fourth consecutive session of the nano-range session.
Sensex and Nifty both fall
The Nifty 50 closed 0.3 per cent lower at 24,751 and the Sensex closed 0.22 per cent lower amid investors' caution over tariffs and weak quarterly results of several companies. Weakness was also seen in the broader market. Both the Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 fell marginally by 0.1 per cent as selling pressure was seen in the IT, metal and auto sectors during yesterday's trade.
According to a Moneycontrol report, siddharth Khemka, Head of Research, Wealth Management, Motilal oswal Financial Services, said that domestic investors' buying of stocks remained supportive. In key macro developments, India's GDP growth rate in the fourth quarter has reached 7.4 per cent, which is much higher than the estimate of 6.7 per cent. While the growth for the entire financial year 2025 was 6.5 per cent.
